GB Team are not the only ones returning home with Gold medals.
Shirley Swimmer Rhyseren Taylor was part of the GB Biathle team that won Gold in the European Championships.
Rhyseren (9) was competing in the 10 years and under category against the best Biathletes from across Europe from countries including; Spain, Portugal, Russia, Turkey, Austria, Germany, Georgia, Serbia, Belarus, Italy, France and Belgium.
Rhyseren performed well in the heats on Saturday 16th July and qualified for the final which was the next day. Rhyseren put in a fantastic performance in the final finishing 7th in Europe!
Rhyseren, a year younger than many of her competitors and the youngest GB member, was only 17 seconds behind the winner.
Rhyseren formed part of the 10 years and under GB team consisting of the top 3 finishers from each country. Rhyseren and the GB team came first clinching the gold medal a great return from her first international competition.
Rhyseren said it was an amazing experience and looks forward to competition in her next international.
