Writing Lesson Plans

Our lessons are grouped by age, the activities and games should be suitable for the baby or toddlers physical abilities and adaptable enough to include all levels of experience in the class!

Be creative when planning lessons.  Use a theme; boats, ducks, fish, etc. and try to link each activity or game to the next where possible.  Even if only by a common word/toy/song!

Parents expect and appreciate the organisation of the activities, rather than just a lot of isolated skill practices with random songs and games.

Create stories with toys and use woggles and big floats to add to the enjoyment.

Each lesson plan should include all main skill areas. (age appropriate)

Here is a guide to how long you should be spending (overall) practising each skill in the lesson, this is for enjoyment and best use of time for progression.

Most games and activities will cover more than one skill area, so you subtract a little from all the skills covered, and the rest is left to be used in another activity.

The number of times you should repeat the skill (with a progression) is also stated with x 3-4.  Do not do skill once unless stated x1.

For example:

Front practices should be done for 5-7 mins and in 2 or 3 activities.

On Front5-7 mins                                           x 2-3

At least 4 Songs should be included in skill practices/ swims throughout the lesson.  Not including entry and exit songs.  Maximum of 6.
