Just a gentle reminder that we have regular visits from ticket wardens at the top end of Kentish Road.
Ideally, the “T” end to the cul de sac should be used for drop off and pick up, allowing a safe, traffic free walkway for the children through the top gate.
Many of you have taken our advise of parking alternatives in the surrounding streets but in case you missed that email, some reminders:
York Road is usually very quiet as most people don’t see it as a first option for parking at the pool or even know its there.Because it is unrestricted, residential parking and most are at work until after 6pm there is regularly free space and a short walk through the cut.
Grove Road is a deceptively long road going all the way to Foundry lane and has free parking on both sides.
Grove Road Medical Practice can be used to park in after it closes at 5pm, once the majority of the patients have left. The surgery does not open on a Saturday morning, but the car park does.
Freemantle and Shirley Community Centre car park can be used only if you notice it is fairly quiet, suggesting it is not in use.
Cycle to Swimming Scheme
If you are fortunate enough to live close by to the pool and are able to encourage your children to cycle, we will reward each cyclist with a free lolly pop or a bag of Haribo to sweeten the journey.
