Southampton Dolphins Results at the Fareham Nomads Summer Meet 2018

What a weekend and what a way to end the 2017/18 season for Southampton Dolphins.

17 swimmers from Southampton Dolphins Swimming Club went to the Fareham Nomads Summer Open Meet at Havant & Waterlooville, with their new coaches Paul Dollery and Matt Boyd-Wallis.

They swam a total of 108 races over 2 days and this small group of  swimmers achieved some amazing results.

The swimmers ranged from 9 to 17 years old,  competing in all events from the 400m IM and Freestyle, 200m Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and IM to the 100m and 50m Sprints. Four girls made the  Skins event where Jodie Yates ended 3rd over all.

However what made the weekend such a success was the way Dolphins came together as a young squad, supporting each other and believing in what they can achieve.

The poolside atmosphere was very hot and humid but it didn’t affect any of the performances.Everyone remained focused and gave 100% effort and commitment.

This was very much reflected in the results  achieved: there were 60 personal best swims, 42 of those swim were inside the County Qualifying Times for this season, which the coaches were incredibly impressed with and proud of these swimmers for achieving. Dolphins won a total of 59 medals over the two days, 36 Gold’s, 14 Silvers and 9 Bronzes in a range of events. What also made the weekend was the fact that they only had 4 Disqualifications (DQ’s) for the whole weekend. All in all this was an amazing weekend which has allowed Dolphins to end the season on a real positive high and gives Matt, Paul and the swimmers a lot to build upon for next season. Well Done Dolphins for an incredibly fun and successful weekend.
