Goodbye To Ben
Saturday was the last working day for teacher Ben Gardner, who is off to travel Europe for six months before taking up a place at Cambridge University.
Ben started swimming at Shirley Pool as a toddler and has been here ever since. After reaching a high level in competition swimming, Ben began volunteering with Dolphins from the age of 14 and went onto to become a lifeguard and swimming teacher. In the last couple of years Been has stepped up to take his own regular classes on a Saturday and been a regular face in the office and poolside, whenever needed. His cheerful manner and polite persona have made him very popular with kids, staff and parents.
We all wish Ben the best of fortune in his travels and University and hope to welcome him back during the holidays. Thank you Ben!
