Emily Martin began her swimming life at Shirley Pool as a toddler, progressing rapidly to the main pool, even though she could barely stand in the deeper pool.
Picking up the strokes with ease, Emily was fast tracked through to the Dolphins Swimming Club where she excelled in her age group, winning many awards for her efforts at galas.
Her love of water and gymnastics made diving a natural progression and,after eight years at Shirley Pool, Emily was selected to try diving with the local academy.
Through her hard work and dedication, Emily has now been selected to represent Great Britain and has every chance of making the next Olympics.
