A team of Southampton swimmers returned from the Cork Masters Race in Ireland with a haul of medals. The Shirley based Masters swimmers claimed Gold, Silver and Bronze in the 1700m Sandycove Island Challenge near Kinsale, County Cork .
From a field of over 200 entrants from Eire and Europe, Gary Robb braved the Celtic sea in speedos to secure third place (28.minutes 18), Dave Perry came in first, (27minutes 51 secs) in the wetsuit age group with Steve Hansford second , 29min 39 sec.
