Harry Hartill started swimming in 2004 when he was just coming up to 2 years old. The parent and child classes with Deborah once a week instilled a love of the water in Harry and he soon progressed to the toddler group without Mum, Tina. Learning the backstroke first, Harry then moved to the main pool while still only 3 years old. With Jane, Harry learnt the frontcrawl, turning on his back to breath.
Now at Springhill School, Harry moved to lessons after school, achieved his hundred metres badge, Water Skills 3 and began to learn the breaststroke.
In February 2007, Harry took part in the half term crash course, swimming for two hours every day. At the end of the week all the children attempted lengths to see how far they could swim. After an hour most of the children had stopped and were enjoying their playtime. Not Harry, he kept going and going and going. One hour forty minutes later little Harry had swum 64 lengths, a mile!

For swimming a mile at the age of just five, Harry is this weeks Star Swimmer. Well done Harry.
