Southern Region Modern Pentathlon Event at Newbury, 8th October 2006
Seven children took part in the "Swim, Run" event, five returning home with medals. (1000m run/100m Swim). Top swimmer was Joe Fenton (11) returning a 1.16 swim for 100m. Even coach Dave Perry had a medal, third in the swim, last in the run! The Campbell family needed securicor to escort them home, Fiona (9) Martin and Simon (12) all carrying silverware. The twins ran to a photo finish in their first ever biathlon and when joined by andrew Boyes took second place in the team event. National Qualifyer Hannah Musker was muscled out to 2nd, despite a fine swim and run.Jack Perry swam a personal best time in the 100m swim, shaving 10seconds off and matched his fathers position in the run! Any swimmer can join the Biathlon Club.Watch out for notices for the next event. A lovely day out in the sun, watch the notice board for forthcoming events and special training sessions.
